As the official drum corps of the city of San Francisco, the Renegades are an ideal match for the San Francisco Chinese New Year parade. With TV coverage, a huge crowd, firecrackers and dragons, this parade is an event not to be missed.
The Renegades would like to invite all of our drum corps brethren to join with us to march in the Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year's Parade on February 23, 2013 followed by a post-parade party in the heart of San Francisco. This is truly a phenomenon you won't want to miss!

Who: Any drum corps member past or present who has marched at least one season (anywhere) and desires to march with one of the best drum corps in California for this once in a lifetime opportunity - center stage in downtown San Francisco on one of the most exciting nights of the year! What: The Renegades will perform In The Stone by Earth Wind and Fire. Where: The parade begins in downtown San Francisco, heads through Union Square and finishes in the historic Chinatown district. Only two miles in length, this is an easy parade for those who haven't marched in years. And besides, when was the last time you've had over a million people screaming for you? When: The parade commences the evening of Saturday, February 23. A mandatory rehearsal will be held prior to the parade from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at the Magic Carpet Great Lawn on Treasure Island (in the middle of the San Francisco Bay). We meet at the parade for warm-up at 5:00pm. How to March: Step 1: Let us know you'll be marching by sending us email at info@renegades.org. Step 2: Send us $25 Parade Dues (free for current members who have already paid a portion of their 2013 annual dues.) Step 3: Memorize the Brass and Percussion music or learn the Guard Work or Cadence Horns and Drum Uniforms: Red, long-sleeved shirt (solid red - not burgundy or pink), black slacks (ie. Dockers), all black dress shoes or sneakers. Black sunglasses are suggested, but not required. Color Guard Uniforms: ATTENTION all color guard members!!!! For the parade this weekend, we will be wearing solid color tops in VIBRANT colors, such as vibrant reds, greens, purples, oranges, blues, and yellows. The tops must be one solid color. Black pants, socks, and shoes finish the outfit. Gloves are optional. The temps for the parade are forecast to be in the mid-to-low 50s, so layering is recommended. Before and after the parade it's party time! Join us at Chevys for food, fun and frivolities! Best of all, you can eat, drink to support the Renegades (3:00pm - 11:00pm.). A percentage of the money spent will be donated back to corps when you include a fund-raising flyer with your bill! Get a flyer at the rehearsal.
