June 3th & 4th - Round #1: Back on the island with the sun shining, grass turning brown, and bridges closing... the corps gets down to business as usual.

After morning warm-ups, the horn and drum lines were handed off to Mac for an intense review and cleaning session. Working peice by peice through the opener as a review for those who alread learned and a crash course for the new memeber. Then it was onto the ballad for more review/crash course.

Meanwhile the guard had a long weekend of drill themselves, needing to re-learn almost all of the drill to accomidate the new memebers and closing up some holes. With no drill to learn it was music music music for the pit, and with the complexity of this years music it is time well spend.

By the end of the weekend, we were able to do a complete run of the opener with horns, drums, pit, and guard (complete with work)! Woo Hoo!!

The bridge shot, beautiful as usual... add the Stairway to Heaven and it's even better.

The guard put in a lot of hard work this weekend, cleaning their routine as well as re-learning drill to accomidate new drill spots.

Adding more new memeber, the drum line reviews one of the many drum solos in this years show.

The pit is hard at work as usual perfecting the music.

New game... Find the Yardline! ...ready... go!

This camp, Lee changed his mind and decided he wants to play snare instead of in the pit.

Relaxing on the island...

...more relaxing (note the iTunes cell phone providing background music).

Its a sign.

Pit love.

The guard works to learn proper "spearing" technique.

Finishing off the weekend with a few run-thrus of the opener and ballad.

June 10th & 11th - Round #2: Return to South Bay... The 2nd June camp brought us back down to the south bay area to Del Mar High School for more drill cleaning, music refinement, and new drill.

Once again, Mac was handed the reigns for the horns and drums. With the newly re-filled drum line, it was time to review the ballad before moving into the new drill for the closer. Meanwhile in the Guard-lot, yes they got their own private parking lot field, the guard spent time learning to work with the new show flags they just got.

Later on in the weekend brought a review / cleaning of the opener for all sections and by the end of the camp we where doing full corps runs through the first half of the closer.

In preperation for the show next week, the guard was very excited to finally get their show flags and spent part of the morning swapping out the practice silk for the show ones.

Ya for Snares! Ya for Tenors! Ya for Basses... look at this nice big drum line. After last months drama, it great to see the Renegades pull through as usual!

Between drill blocks, Jim continues to work the hornline to perfect our sound... the intense opener, the beautiful ballad, and the increasingly loud closer.

Finding a quit corner away from the hornline, the pit continues to work on music (but no drill yet).

"Insert pin C into slot BB on piece BC. NOTE: Be sure to align piece BC with CB..."

Jim and Mac with a view from above... time to clean!

With the new flags ready to go, the guard took to the... um... parking lot to get work on continue working on the routines.

Warning, the 30 yardline is no speeding zone.

Mac works with the horn and drum lines working throught the fast paced moves in the opening of Toccata.

With most of the show on the field, the full corps gets ready for an all out run of everything we learn and cleaned this weekend.... WOW! What a camp!
