Rich Skare played Mellophone and Contrabass in the Renegades for ten years. Here is his story of how he came to join the corps:
After not having any affiliation with corps for a long time, I found myself at the Stockton show in 1999, just in time to see the inaugural field performance of the Renegades. “Cool, I thought to myself, that there is a senior group getting off the ground.”

For the first time, all eight of the SF Renegades’ electric DCA performances have been collected in one CD set. From the first appearance in 2002, the Trilogy years, up through the amazing 2009 show, enjoy them all.
Loud has never been so good.

Not only will we continue to learn drill, drill, drill, but we will also be performing a standstill of the entire show at the infamous Loud Music Symposium this weekend!
All day Saturday as well as Sunday morning, the corps will be rehearsing on beautiful Treasure Island where the fresh ocean air and sweeping views of San Fran and the entire bay area (shout out to my East Bay peeps) are always an inspiration. Then it’s off to Cubberley Community Center in Palo Alto for LMS 10 where we plan to put on an amazing show for friends, family and music lovers alike.
This year’s lineup includes:
Organamatronic
Silicon Valley Chamber Brass
Singer/songwriter and all around amazing entertainer, Justin Farren (my personal fav)
Lyin’ I’s, featuring our very own Rich Duarte
An exhibition by the always incredible Crunchy Frog
And of course, a standstill performance of the entire 2010 Renegade show
We have a killer MC, some amazing silent auction items, concessions and an all around fun and exciting show. Come out and support Renegades this Sunday, you won’t regret it!
