San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade
We will get together to rehearse, record and perform on the weekend of December 4-6, 2015, and a classic Renegades party and picnic to boot. An entire season of Renegades chaos in one weekend.
All years. All groups. All are welcome.
When we hit one hundred (100) people signed up, the Renegades reunion weekend 2015 is officially a GREEN LIGHT!
If we don’t hit 100, we’ll save this idea for another year. Either way, let’s see what we got!
See old friends, make new memories, perform some great music. It’s really a no brainer.
San Francisco Renegades announce the next step in the marching arts – coming soon to a floor near you.
The Renegades will be forming an ensemble to compete in WGI Winds in 2016.
We are looking for a creative and innovative director to lead this exciting new ensemble.
WGI Winds presents marching music ensembles in the same performance environment as indoor color guard and percussion ensembles.
If you would like to be considered for this position, please email a letter of interest and an up to date resume to firstname.lastname@example.org
I would like to take this opportunity to give a big THANK YOU to all who participated in, volunteered their time, and helped organize the SF Renegades appearance at the 2015 Chinese New Year Parade, it was a huge success! Performers traveled from all parts of the world including Germany, and Korea to be a ‘Renegade for the day” in our beautiful city of San Francisco. It was most definitely an event to be remembered for many years to come.
This parade performance stood out beyond all others in recent memory due to the high energy, talent level, and fantastic drum line that the Renegades presented this year. But above all, the highlights of the evening were the enormous crowd responses, and ovations that the ensemble received in appreciation for their energetic performances of the tune that we chose to play this year…….”Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey. A great arrangement by Joey Pero, Neil Bliss, and Josh Bryan literally had thousands of parade goers dancing and singing out loud in the streets of San Francisco the entire evening. This connection between the corps and the crowds, helped create yet another epic moment in Renegades history.
As always, we ended the performance part of the evening by arcing up on the side street, and playing through the tune one last time for the folks having dinner on the side walk in front of the local pub. This final run has become an extremely fun tradition at the CNY parade, and each year, it closes the book on this great event. From there, after ‘walking the walk’, the group headed back to Chevy’s to round out the evening by ‘talking the talk’, while enjoying some refreshing food and beverages with all our new friends. A great day, and a lot of fun was had by everyone involved.
On behalf of the Renegades Board of Directors, and truly from the bottom of my own heart, I would again like to thank all of you who traveled from near and far to help support our organization, and this great drum corps activity……WE WOULDN’T BE HERE WITHOUT YOU. To those who were not able to make it out this year, there will be more, and we will look forward to seeing you all in the future. A very special thank you goes out to Robin Kinoshita, Director of the CNYP committee, for her leadership, creativity, and the motivation that made this event so successful once again.
Best of luck to all drum corps competing in the upcoming season!
