What is "Renegades TNT"? Renegades TNT (Tuesday Night Thing) is a new Renegades group. A compliment to the competitive corps, Renegades TNT enables those who want to play "Loud Music" in a more relaxed setting outside the the competitive arena. Perfect to keep chops up. Perfect for those unable march in the competitive corps for whatever reason (jobs, family, injuries, time...). Perfect to keep in touch with friends. Renegades TNT is similar to an east coast "Alumni Corps" -- have fun, play a lot music, socialize and, of course, support our competitive corps.

What's the rehearsal schedule? Every Tuesday night from 7pm to 9pm, beginning November 16, 2004. NOTE: Chris Nalls has graciously offered Leigh High School in San Jose for 2005! (map)

Are there performances? Yes! We will be playing a number of performances per year, including: Renegades Holiday Concert, Loud Music Symposium, parades, home show, standstills and lots more.

Do I have to be an alumni of the Renegades? NO! Anyone over 18 can participate in Renegades TNT.

Can I be in Renegades TNT and the Renegades competitive corps?Of course! The two groups are meant to compliment each other, not compete. And the opposite is true. No problem being in Renegades TNT, but not the competitive corps.

What's the uniform going to be?Something black. We'll post exact uniform specifications on the web (e.g., shirt & pants style). Each participant will be responsible for providing their own uniform.

What about instruments or equipment? Each member should plan to provide their own instrument / equipment. However, we will work with the quartermaster of the Renegades competitive corps to borrow equipment if it's available.

What kind of instrumentation will be used? All music (initially) will be written for bugles in the key of G, and drums in the key of Bb (the Renegades standard!). Guard can use whatever music they want!

What music will we play?Anything we want! Charts from previous years, seasonal music (e.g., Holiday music for the Holiday concert), original arrangements, fanfares and more! We won't concentrate on the typical "11 minutes of music", like the competitive corps. Instead, we can experience as many pieces of fun music as possible.

Will there be try-outs?No. The focus is fun. However, we do expect members to perform up to the high level of excellence, excitement and emotion that has always been a trademark of the Renegades.

How big will the group be?As many or as few that want to participate. There is no set size. There will also be opportunities for smaller groups (e.g., sextets, small ensembles) to rehearse and perform under the Renegades TNT name.

What's the length of the season? There is no season! This is a year-round activity! Renegades TNT has no boundaries!

Who will run Renegades TNT?To get us off the ground Greg Gilman will act as director. We expect lots of people to help with all aspects of Renegades TNT. Individuals should contact Greg if interested. The great thing about Renegades TNT, we can be as flexible as we want! Again the idea is... have fun!!

How do I start? Show up to rehearsal next Tuesday or send e-mail to info@Renegades.org for additional information.
